# Build the room from the floor up.

VisibilityReady demonstration; not an operating flooring contractor.

## The room comes before the sample
Start with where the floor will go: above or below ground, over wood or concrete, beside tile or carpet, and around stairs or cabinetry. Confirm the selected product is approved for that setting.

## Substrate and moisture come before layout
Identify the substrate and verify that it meets the flooring and installation-system requirements. Preparation may involve flatness, fastening, surface condition, or other corrections. Moisture evaluation and environmental requirements depend on the exact material, substrate, location, and manufacturer instructions.

## Installation sequence
1. Assess the space: measurements, substrate, moisture, and adjoining floor heights.
2. Specify the floor: construction, dimensions, finish, layout, transitions, and installation method.
3. Prepare and install according to product requirements.
4. Walk through the result: edges, transitions, care, leftover material, and agreed corrections.

## Layout decisions
Agree on starting point, plank direction, narrow end pieces, transitions, vents, fireplaces, cabinets, stairs, and other fixed details. Discuss how visible material variation will be distributed across the room.

## Compare complete proposals
A material price alone is not a project price. Compare removal, disposal, preparation, trim, stairs, delivery, furniture moving, finishing, and exclusions on the same basis.

## Solid or engineered
Solid wood is one piece throughout. Engineered wood has a real-wood surface over layered construction and can suit different installation conditions. Product suitability and future refinishing potential still require verification.

## Questions before installation
- Which installation method is approved for this flooring and substrate?
- What preparation is included and what could create added work?
- How much overage is planned and who keeps usable leftovers?
- How will transitions, baseboards, doors, stairs, vents, and adjoining heights be handled?
- What are the written care and return-to-use instructions?
